CNN- Manipulative, misleading, innacurate, half-truthed, BS, agenda-biased propaganda?

Don’t use the term “fake news” when trying to redpill. Using terms like ‘misleading’ or ‘innacurate’ has been far more effective for me when trying to expose people to the truth. (whatever)

And it works remarkably well.

Half-truth.

Usually that’s what it is, a half-truth. While what they’ve heard does have some truth to it, they’ve heard things that purposely and deliberately left out important parts to trick them into thinking a certain way.

It’s a good way of talking to people who “know” what’s happening. You aren’t arguing against the “facts” that they know. And they aren’t wrong about what they believe, they’re just being mislead by only being told part of the story. Which doesn’t make them completely wrong. And also allows them to listen to the whole truth without being completely wrong.

Example – Women make 77 cents for every dollar a man makes!!!

Yes, on average men make more money than women overall. But that’s a half-truth. One reason for that is the woman is usually the one who leaves the workforce when they have children. A person who has 5-7 years more experience will make more money. So yes men do make more money overall, but men and women with the same amount of experience, doing the same job, do get paid the same.

They get to keep their (sometimes false) beliefs. In this example, they read online and they were told many times that men make more money. You can’t undo that with one conversation when they’ve heard it 100 times before. You wouldn’t just be arguing with them, you’d be arguing against all those other people who told them it’s true.

You aren’t arguing against their “facts”, you’re just adding to the half-truth. So this way you aren’t automatically wrong. And neither are they. Which leaves them open to the truth.

Not only that, but unless you work for government, where all salaries are predetermined in pay scale rules, most people get the salary they bargained for at their hiring interview. If some women feel they are worth less and settle for less, whose problem is it ?

“Unsourced” is a good one too because it begs that facts are out there that would contradict their statement.

Yes that is a good term to use!

That’s a damn fine example right there. Then show them the real clip from a news source that didn’t edit like Breitbart…. “but, but, Breitbart is fake right wing propaganda….I’m so confused I need my safe space.” haha. – If your example doesn’t get people thinking, they’re beyond saving.

Manipulative

Most people in the back of their heads understand they are being manipulated and it bothers them even if they can’t quite put a finger on it.

Yes. Careful though when telling someone they are being manipulated….these idiots shut down all thought processes when they feel they are being insulted and will go on the attack. Sometimes I feel I literally have to hold their hand and gently guide them in the right direction until they open their eyes.
